Part-Time Parts Associate

Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Part-time (with opportunity for growth)

Born Free Cycles, a leading independent Harley-Davidson and American V-Twin shop in Burbank, is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Parts Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support both our front counter and back-of-house operations, making sure technicians have what they need and customers get the right parts the first time.

Job Responsibilities

• Handle shipping and receiving of all incoming and outgoing parts.

• Track and organize undelivered/backordered parts.

• Prepare and stage jobs when parts are complete and ready for dispatch.

• Pull mid-job parts requests when needed.

• Perform cycle counts and help maintain accurate inventory records.

• Assist at the parts counter with over-the-counter (OTC) sales.

• Support customer service and phones when needed.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized parts department.

• Communicate clearly with technicians, service writers, and management to keep workflow moving.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a motorcycle or automotive parts department preferred, but not required.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to learn parts systems and catalog lookups.

• Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player.

• Basic computer skills (inventory systems, order tracking).

• Must be able to lift and move boxes up to 50 lbs, and work in a shop environment.

• Valid driver’s license with clean, insurable driving record.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening (periodic testing may apply).

Preferred (Not Required)

• Knowledge of Harley-Davidson and American V-Twin parts.

• Experience with service writing or customer-facing counter work.

• Prior work in a dealership or independent motorcycle shop.
