Meet our Crew

TECHNICIAN: FRED MANZO

HARLEY-DAVIDSON CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
YEARS EXPERIENCE: 7 YEARS
SPECIALTY: FLATHEAD, PANHEAD, SHOVELHEAD, SPORTSTERS, CUSTOMS

At what age did you become fascinated with motorcycles and what was that experience?
I was 11 when I got on my cousins dirt bike for the first time. The first thing he told me was "Don't gun it" and of course that was the first thing I did! I remember the rear tire fish tailing behind me and the exhilaration I felt. Before I knew it I had made it a couple times around the course and I was hooked!

What was the first bike you owned? How old were you?
I was 15 years old when I bought my yellow and black 1988 Yamaha Y280.

What kind of bike do you own now?
1995 XL1200 Sportster.  The motor is what I’m most proud of. I of course did the work and it's strong and quick to put it mildly!

What’s the best ride you’ve ever gone on?  Or what trip do you have planned to take?

I do a lot of solo riding commuting and so I look forward to riding in a group with friends.

What made you want to train to become a certified Harley-Davidson Technician?

Ever since I was a little kid I would take apart my toys and put them back together so I think I always had it in me to be a mechanic.

What do you like most about working as a technician?

When the job is done I get this feeling of accomplishment especially when I see how happy my work has made the customer.

TECHNICIAN: FLYNN MATTHEWS

HARLEY-DAVIDSON CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN
EXPERIENCE: LA TECH GRADUATE
SPECIALTY: EVO, TWIN CAM,

SPORTSTERS, CUSTOMS, DRIVE TRAIN

At what age did you become fascinated with motorcycles and what was that experience?

I was just a kid and saw my Dad riding dirt bikes with his friends and having a good time and I knew that was something I wanted to do one day.

What kind of bike do you own now?

My first Harley is the one I ride everyday.  It’s 2016 XL1200 and it’s my daily grinder.

What’s the best ride you’ve ever gone on?  Or what trip do you have planned to take?

Locally it’s Angeles Crest.  All the twists and turns makes for a fun ride.  Plus it’s beautiful up there!  But the ride I plan to do one day is Sturgis.  I know it would be an incredible experience.

What made you want to train to become a certified Harley-Davidson Technician?

I love motorcycles!  They’re exciting and thrilling so this was a way for me to learn a skill in something I was passionate about.

What do you like most about working as a technician?

I’m always learning something new. Each motorcycle comes with its own history. No matter how much experience I gain I’ll always encounter a new challenge that I look forward to figuring out.
